Beyond the Rainbow: Keep Moving with Pride

Some rainbow flags might be coming down, but there’s still plenty of work (and dancing) to be done.

As Pride Month draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to remember that Pride isn’t just a one-off celebration, it's a year-round movement for equality, visibility and joy. Plus, it serves as a reminder to keep pushing for safer, more inclusive public spaces for everyone.

Pride events are continuing across the UK throughout the summer, including many in Beryl scheme areas. We’ve rounded up some of the key ones to keep an eye on. This final week of Pride is a chance to remind ourselves that visibility doesn’t end in June.

Progress needs to keep moving, and so do we.

Why Pride Matters to Mobility

Pride is more than a party. It’s a protest, a history, and an ongoing journey toward visibility and equality. For many queer people, public space can still feel unsafe or unwelcoming and that includes the way we get around. Cycling and active travel should offer freedom and independence, not barriers.

At Beryl, we’re committed to making micromobility accessible for more people. That means affordable options, safe infrastructure, and inclusive design. It also means listening to the communities we serve and spotlighting those already doing brilliant work.
