Wallisdown Road closure

Avoid the traffic with this offer from BCP Council and Beryl

As part of the next stage of BCP Council’s major infrastructure improvements in the area, Wallisdown Road will be closed for approximately two weeks from Monday 11 May 2020. In order to help keep the area moving and to reduce the impact on traffic of these major works, BCP Council has made space for active travel past the works, and is sponsoring a special promotion for residents to make it easier for them to choose a bike over a car.

Wallisdown Road promotion

The promotion offers riders a 50% discount off any Beryl Minute Bundle for riding. Minute Bundles start from £5 for 100 minutes, so with this discount Bournemouth residents will be able to get 400 minutes for just £10, making the cost of riding a Beryl Bike just 2.5p per minute!

During the works, access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained through the entire stretch of the road being repaired, so it's a great opportunity to skip the traffic and enjoy a healthy, green commute.

I want in! When can I sign up?

The works on Wallisdown Road will commence on Monday 11th April 2020. The promotion code will be valid from Monday 11th May until Sunday 24th May inclusive. The code can only be used by the first 1000 riders though, so make sure you're ready as soon as the code goes live to redeem it.

Redeem your code

If you want to take advantage of this discount sponsored by BCP Council, all you need to do is complete the following simple steps.

  1. Download the Beryl app and set up an account with your email address.
  2. In the left hand menu, choose 'Promotions'. (If you don't see this option, please update your app to the latest version.
  3. Enter the code WALLISDOWN50 in the 'Promo code' box.
  4. Choose which Minute Bundle you would like to buy and follow the steps to complete the transaction. You can only use this code once, so choose your bundle carefully to get the biggest saving possible.
  5. Once you've purchased the minutes, you'll be able to see your remaining balance in your wallet, also accessible from the left hand menu.

With your minute balance full, the next time you unlock a Beryl Bike and go for a ride, the minutes will be deducted from your balance for the time you ride. Please remember that out of bay charges (£2 in Bournemouth and Poole) and out of zone charges (£5 in Bournemouth and Poole) apply even if you have minutes available, so you must have a valid payment card associated with your account whenever you ride.
