Beryl BTN Bikes agrees exciting new sponsorship deal with Vita Coco

An exciting new sponsorship deal has been agreed for Brighton & Hove’s Beryl BTN Bikes.

The city’s cycle hire scheme has agreed a one-year deal with coconut water company Vita Coco to be its lead partner.

It means that residents will soon see Vita Coco branding on the rear wheels of Beryl BTN bikes and e-bikes and a programme of events and giveaways across the city this year.

It will also appear on our website, app and social media channels.

100% of what the council receives from its share of the sponsorship will be reinvested back into the scheme.

Beryl CEO and co founder, Phil Ellis, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to partner with a globally recognised organisation that shares our outlook and values around carbon reduction and healthy lifestyles.

“Our Brighton & Hove scheme has already had a significant impact on traffic congestion, air quality and physical activity, generating over 120,000 journeys across more than 403,000 kilometres and saving more than 12 tonnes of carbon emissions.

“Partnerships like this allow us to build on the great work already undertaken and contribute towards a cleaner, greener future.”

Councillor Trevor Muten, Chair of the Transport and Sustainability committee said: “This is very exciting news for Brighton & Hove and Beryl BTN Bikes and I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Vita Coco as the scheme’s lead partner.

“The city currently has more bikes and hubs than ever before, and this sponsorship deal will support our work to make it bigger and better for our residents and visitors.

“Beryl BTN Bikes are a very popular way for people to move around the city and play a huge role in supporting active and sustainable travel.”

Vita Coco Managing Director, Tim Rees, said: ‘At Vita Coco we are passionate about helping communities get active – and swapping your car for a bike is a great way to do this.

“As a fellow B-Corp we are passionate about sustainability and building thriving communities – and our partnership with Beryl supports both these missions.’
