World Kindness Day: Show You Care

World Kindness Day: Show You Care with Beryl

Get ready to show that you care for the planet and others for World Kindness Day on the 13 November.

Life is too short to not shift gears every once and a while and show your appreciation to your environment and others around you.

World Kindness Day in November gives us the perfect opportunity to take stock and think about how to give back, getting us to think beyond ourselves and see the bigger picture.

To celebrate the relaunch of our Community Champions initiative and World Kindness Day, we've made a short list of how to go the extra mile with Beryl this month and beyond.

5 ways to be kind with Beryl

Looking after Mother Earth

One of the greatest happy accidents about cycling is that it's super kind to the planet because it produces zero emissions, reduces traffic congestion, and requires less energy and resources than driving. By choosing to cycle, we are choosing to reduce pollution and say hello to a cleaner, greener environment. Win-win!

Random acts of kindness

Why not try using Bery to deliver your good deed for the day? Ways to give back could include picking up and delivering groceries, medicine, or other essentials to an elderly neighbour or someone unable to get out. And the great news is that for short trips, cycling can be faster than driving as you can wave goodbye to the traffic jams.

Give some love to a friend in need

Encouraging a pal to get outside to enjoy some fresh air and (UK weather permitting!) sun can improve their mood, reduce stress, and boost energy levels. Giving them a chance to connect with the world around them and with you—a pretty kind gesture that shows you care about them and your friendship. Go the extra mile and bring them a selection of their favourite snacks!

Pay it forward

After your ride, always park your bike or e-scooter in a designated bay to ensure that other users have easy access when they need it. When vehicles are left blocking pathways, it can create obstacles for those who use wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or have other accessibility needs. By ensuring clear and safe pathways, it’s a simple way to be kind and respectful to your community.

Show yourself some love

Did you know that getting on two wheels boosts physical health by improving fitness, strengthening muscles, and enhancing joint mobility, all while being gentle on the body? Cycling also supports mental well-being by reducing stress, improving mood, and promoting better sleep. Plus, it’s a fun way to keep that screen-time down and disconnect from the online world.
