Beryl teams up with Enterprise Car Club

The UK’s leading micromobility provider, Beryl, has teamed up with Enterprise Car Club in a new partnership designed to promote the benefits of shared ownership for both business and personal travel.

By offering discounted Enterprise Car Club membership rates and free driving credit to Beryl users, the scheme aims to encourage people to move from private to shared ownership and contribute towards reducing congestion and carbon emissions.

The partnership is part of Enterprise’s ongoing commitment to delivering more convenient and connected travel by integrating different types of shared transport.

Enterprise Car Club members can already enjoy a free 200 Minute Bundle (or 60 Minute Bundle if applicable) when they sign up for Beryl. The new scheme creates a reciprocal arrangement encouraging Beryl users to explore the benefits of Enterprise Car Club.

The partnership will promote Beryl’s suitability for first and last mile journeys, making it quick and simple to link with an Enterprise Car Club car, which can then be used for longer journeys or those that simply need four wheels rather than two.

Beryl Partnerships Lead, Ben Lee, said: “Ultimately, we want to inspire more people to take up sustainable travel options and help make our towns and cities cleaner and greener spaces in which to live, work and visit.

“By partnering with Enterprise Car Club, we have a great opportunity to show people how flexible and convenient shared schemes can be in helping them get from A to B.

“I’d urge people to take advantage of this great offer and enjoy the benefits that shared vehicle schemes can bring.”

Dan Gursel, Managing Director of Enterprise Car Club, commented, “By teaming up with Beryl we are helping to connect the travel chain, making it easier for people to travel without needing to own a car.

“Shared and active travel benefits individuals and communities by increasing physical activity, reducing congestion and driving down emissions.  It’s fantastic that we can partner with innovators like Beryl to bring multi-modal travel and the benefits of shared ownership to more people.”

Beryl users can connect to Enterprise Car Club’s network of more than 1,500 on-street rental cars and vans across the UK. All Enterprise Car Club vehicles are low-emission and many are electric. They offer cost-effective motoring for those trips when a car is essential while keeping emissions low. Enterprise’s UK-wide network also means car club vehicles are often parked on-street within local neighbourhoods as well as by railway stations and other transport hubs.

By providing an alternative to private ownership, Beryl’s partnership with Enterprise also addresses issues around vehicle storage and allows people to save money on costs such as fuel, insurance, tax, MOT and maintenance.

According to shared transport charity CoMoUK, 73% of car club members agreed that they saved money compared to owning a car. CoMoUK data also showed that more than a third (37%) of car club members travel by bicycle at least once a week, compared to the UK average of only 20%. Each car club vehicle also produces 27% less carbon emissions than the average private car and replaces 20 private cars, removing an estimated 116,000 cars from the roads.

The offer is open to Beryl users in the Brighton, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Cornwall, Isle of Wight, Hereford, Leeds, Norwich, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southampton, Watford, and Worcester areas, and enables them to join Enterprise Car Club for just £10 in their first year’s annual membership (usually and thereafter £60) and get £10 of FREE driving credit.

This offer is not valid in London and Greater Manchester.

Beryl customers in the relevant scheme areas will receive the promotional code as part of a ‘riders’ perk’ email.

Ultimately, we want to inspire more people to take up sustainable travel options and help make our towns and cities cleaner and greener spaces in which to live, work and visit.
