To launch the scheme, on Friday we welcomed local journalists and members of BCP Council to have a preview ride of the Beryl Bikes and to put our app through its paces. Today, the scheme goes live to the public, meaning anyone who is in the operating zone, and over 18, can hire a bike using the app. This will be the first bike share of its kind in Bournemouth and Poole, and we hope to expand the scheme to Christchurch by 2020, enabling us to serve the wider BCP area.
We’ve been very grateful for the invaluable feedback that we have received from all the Beryl Bike Share test riders, and now that the scheme is live, we look forward to getting even more feedback, in real time. We designed the Beryl Bike Share scheme to serve the communities we operate in, so we want to hear from you - please share the good, the bad and your suggestions!
Keep an eye out for Beryl news in Bournemouth and Poole, as we have an exciting summer ahead of us. We’ll be adding more Beryl Bikes to the fleet week by week, and hosting a pop-up event in Bournemouth city centre on the 26th July where you can try a bike, speak to the Beryl team, get help downloading the app, and even win some prizes. We’ll also be attending the first Poole Quay Summer Breeze festival event on Thursday 25th July.
